Why do you procrastinate on certain tasks at work? Could it be because you hate doing them, or aren’t very good at them?
Your job came with a preset list of responsibilities that you were qualified to do. Perhaps qualified, but a desire to do them? Hardly.
No matter how well a job candidate is selected, many times, parts of their job are procrastinated causing a slowdown for the entire group. Yet, we continue to try to fit a square peg into a round hole with how we hire around preset job duties.
Why not create a job around what someone is good at (skilled) or likes to do?
When a football team drafts a top passer, do they continue to run, or do they change to a passing game?
Maybe it is time for your team to go down and long. Real long.
