Tip 31. Keep everything off the floor.

How much stuff do you have strewn on your office floor? How about on your floors at home? Should I even ask about your basement or garage?

One of the first rules my father taught me when I worked in his construction business was to always keep the floor completely clean. That meant even sweeping up the sawdust. Come-on dad, sawdust? Yup.

Why keep your floors clean? So you can move quickly without having to think where to step or what to avoid stepping on, thus avoiding a costly accident.

How much time do you lose stepping around stuff on the floor? Isn’t it time you made a decision as to what to do with all of that stuff?
