Tip 33. Close your door.

Spread the love

Does your company’s culture dictate that your door be kept open?

I know, I know. It’s antisocial and it goes against some company’s culture to close the door, but so what? What’s more important to your company? An open door with you constantly being interrupted (I don’t even want to think about what an open door means to someone with ADD) or a closed one with more work being accomplished?

Everyone will still love you if your door is shut as long as you go to lunch with them once in a while—and pick up the check.

Warning: Let your coworkers know beforehand that you will be closing your door and why, or they really might think you don’t love them.
