Tip 34. Face any direction but the door.

If your desk is facing the door and someone walks by, what do you think the chances are of you looking up to see who it is?

I know, Mr. Feng Shui (and Tony Soprano) say to never have your back to the door. But come on, this is corporate America. If you think the enemy is going to sneak up on you, are you really working at the right place?

What will sneak up on you are the thousand times you will be interrupted when you look up to see who just walked by.

Besides, if anyone tries to sneak up on you, you can see their reflection in your computer monitor.

Boo!
