Tip 22. Less effort creates more results.

Have you ever tried swimming against a rip tide in the ocean?

If you have, you know it is a losing battle. The more you try to swim straight in towards shore, the more exhausted you get. The simple fact is the ocean is a lot stronger than you are, and there is a lot more of it than you. Sound like anything you are up against in your work life?

Rather than trying to fight the pull, why not harness the power to get you where you want to go—in this case, the shore.

As the rip tide takes you out to deeper water—exactly where you don’t want to go—rather than panic, realize that this is part of the natural order of doing less and achieving more. Then swim diagonally in toward shore using the strength of the current.

Land ho!

Isn’t it time that you started to work smarter, rather than harder?
